REPORTING FROM COOLANGATA, QUEENSLAND, ASTRALIA: Yesterday was the final day of the Roxy Pro at Snapper Rock. It started off with the quarter final heats. I was in the second heat with Megan Abubo. I was nervous but more excited than anything and looking forward to the awesome opportunity. The waves were pretty fun un our heat. However the line up was kind of tricky and it was hard to find the right one that lined up nicely. I got lucky and found two good ones right off the back. I made it through the heat and into the semis with Rebecca Woods.
Rebecca Woods was surfing really well the whole event so I was stoked to be in a heat with her. The waves were pretty consistant in our and it felt as though we were moving the whole time. i got lucky again and made it to the finals with Chelsea G. Hedges. OMG! I couldn't believe it! I was amping! This was truly a dream come true! In the final I had trouble finding the right one and stringing together manuevers. On the other hand Chelsea surfed really really well. She surfed beautifully; fluid and smooth. Chelsea won the contest! CONGRAGULATIONS CHELSEA! Even though I didn't do as well as I may have wanted to I had a blast! It was an honor to surf with everyone! Today my dad, Coco, and I got up very early and walked down to the beach to surf. The waves were a little bit bigger and better. There were perfect walls from Snapper all the way down to Greenmount. It was absolutely amazing! Coco was ripping as usual! My dad got a pretty sick barrel, it was nutts! After our surf we went up to the surfer's club to eat breakfast and watch the contest. The guys were surfing crazy good. I couldn't believe it! In some heats guys had to throw away their lowest 9.0 rides. It was really exciting! |
