This past week Wednesday I competed in the King of The Groms contest at Kewalo Basin. In the morning the tide was really low and the waves were pretty big. It was hard to find the right wave because it was closing out.

The contest had an interesting format. You had fifteen minutes to go out and catch one wave that you liked. When you caught that one wave you had to put your hands up and claim it. It was very difficult. Alessa Quizon and Nage Melamad were the other two girls that did the competition. They did really well!

I got lucky and made it to the finals (Carissa Won!). I had a lot of fun! All the boys surfed really well. I thought it was a great challenge and an awesome opportunity. I had a blast!
