On Monday I competed in the Quiksilver King of the Groms event at Kewalo Basin. The waves were super fun and everyone was surfing really well. Four other girls were in the event with me, including Coco Ho, Erica Steiner and Alessa Quizon. It was a long day with lots of heats but I managed to make the finals with Ezekiel, John John and Kiron.

The final was very difficult because the boys paddled circles around me and there weren't many waves. With under two minutes to go no one had claimed a wave and we were all tied, then John John got a wave and won the event. It was fun to surf with the boys and it was an honor to be in the final with some of the best boys in the state. Congratulations John John!
