Mexico sure is beautiful but it is blazing hot. During the day my dad and I hardly go outside We sit in our room which is very cool. I t is cool because of the architecture. The buildings are made of clay that absorbs the heat and coolness. It is really neat.

The girls surfed in the X Games two days ago. It was challenging. I was a sub with Megan for the games. Coutney, Keala, Rochelle, and Melanie were the four main surfers. Our team did really well and we ended up taking home the gold. I am so stoked! I t was such an honor to surf with those girls and it was a great experience. I kind of got a tummy ache the other day but today I feel much better.

This morning my dad and I decided to drive to the point, which is called Lapunta, and go for a surf. We caught a cab there. Unfortunately whe we arrived at the spot dad realized he didn't have enough money to pay the driver. Dad gave the cab driver the key to our room and told him to come back at eight to pick us up. Then my dad would give hime th money at the hotel. It was not until the cab drove away that we realized what we had done. We had just given the key to our hotel room where all our valubles were to a Mexican cab driver. Dad and I were sort of freaking out. We decided that all we could do was enjoy our surf and hope that the cab would come back. We ended up having a great time.

The waves at the point were so fun! Perfect lefts! The waves broke off a rock and peeled all the way to the ceach. After our surf the cab driver picked us up and drove us to our hotel. He remainded loyal to us and did not take anything (my dad gave him a big tip!). Dumb luck, I guess!

We came back and watched the guys surf the X Games. It was so exciting! The best heat was the that Chris Ward scored a 10! He took this late take off, dropped into the barrel, then 5 seconds later he came out, with his hands up. It was amazing! He surfed it with so much style and control. Shane Bshen also surfed so crazy good! In the last heat he got barrelled, then came out and boosted this huge air! Fantastic! I had so much fun cheering for the US team. Rob and Clay killed it as well. Clay had a few sick no hand grab barrels! So nutts! The US team cleaned house this year at the X Games. The WORLD team surfed really well too.

OH! Guess what? Yesterday my dad and I did something very cool.We were down at the beach late in the afternoon and we got to set baby turtles free into the ocean. I guess these people were trying to protet and regrow the population of sea turtles in the area. It was absolutely awesome! Everyone stood in a line and let the baby sea turtles go. It was definately a once in a lifetime experience.
